Could Socialists Make a Socialist/Communist State Work Successfully?
Let's say 80,000,000 people (the approximate population of Germany) all believe in Socialism. These people want to live under a Socialist system and make it work. So they are willing to be taxed at whatever level to make it work. They are willing to accept that eradicating poverty will be very expensive. National healthcare will cost a lot of money. A top level education system won't be cheap either. Having a nice home for each person to live in is far from free too. Would this nation prosper or would it fail?

look at history, socialism works until you run out of other people's money, look at Greece and other EU countries, so not likely.

Socialism does NOT work at all. Haven't you people been paying attention to Europe??

The only real successful Socialist country is Norway , they have strict immigration policies , their population is primarily White European [almost 95%] and they have a strong work ethic .

that would only work if ppl gave up the idea of money.....if u work, u get food and house and education for your children. simple as that. but if u dont work then u get kicked out of this small community (something like this would only work at a city level).....but if u want nicer house and better education for children, then u work harder and do better in school. that way its also alittle like capitilism

It all depends on who they put in charge. But your question is a little confusing. Are you referring to a Socialist or Communist state? They aren't the same thing. Socialism is... well, socialism. Communism is what cons call Socialism.

if the people were equally committed generation after generation, it would succeed....but reality has shown us that that type of commitment is difficult to maintain. look at the U.S. and the nations of Europe, for example...when a generation's focus is to leave more to the next generation than they themselves had, you see large leaps of progress and the sacrifice necessary to, among other things, win a World War.. ...all it takes is one generation to slightly change that ethic into WANTING more than their elders had and the dynamic can quickly fall apart .... Next, you have a generation EXPECTING to have more...with that expectation or sense of entitlement, however, you rarely see the will to earn something that will last. ....

Where would the money come from to pay for all this? You need private businesses to create the jobs that pay salaries that can be taxed to pay for these expensive entitlements, but individuals won't invest in a business where they can't make a profit and would lose money because of high taxes. Socialism doesn't make sense. It has never and will never work.

If they are willing to be taxed to death and live on less than USD 1 per day - Sure; Socialist ideology has been advocating Hunger for decades...just look at their Cuban and Venezuelan Paradise.
