Spending a few months in Germany?

Spending a few months in Germany?
I want to spend a few months in Germany eventually. I was wondering what I would need to make sure I have everything in order. What can I do about securing a job (a temporary position)? How much money should I have saved up at least? What areas of Germany have a good night life? Are there any things that I MUST know? I just want to gather as much information as possibly so that I can plan accordingly.

If you're an EU citizen then you can go freely and work freely in any EU country including Germany. If you're not an EU citizen then you must obtain a work permit from Germany. In order to get the work permit, a German employer must offer you a position and assist you with the application to the German Immigration Department. After you have received approval (several weeks or months later), then you can go to Germany and live there. Alternatively, you can go as a tourist for up to 3 months.

If you are an EU citizen you will still need to speak German to get any decent job. If you are no EU citizen you can apply for a work visa but chances to get one are close to zero since every employer who hires you needs to provide proof no German or EU citizen was available to do the job which is close to impossible to happen for any kind of temporary work. Unlike the US in Germany has no sponsorship visa either you find a job and apply for it or you get hired by a company both is possible what you need to apply for a work visa is a job lined up otherwise the risk is high you will not get the visa.

If your a US citizen its far more likely you can work on a US base. If you have someone to get you in. Or find a non-approprated funds job on base. Waitress in the clubs, bowling alley or commissary. Check around for bases. There are hundreds of them.
