What's the best and safest way to send money from the US to Germany?
I need to transfer some funds to Germany,since I'll be moving there soon permanently and I wanna make sure that my money gets there safely.What's the best way to go about that? Should I leave my bank accounts open here in the US until I have transferred all my money over there and THEN close them? Can I even close them,once I'm over there? First,I would need to open an account over there,right? Well,how do I do that? Can I do that online while I'm still in the States or how does that work exactly? We're not talking pocket change here,it'll be my lifesavings,etc.What about taxes and stuff? Anyone know anything about that sorta thing? Thanks.

It would easiest if you already had a bank account set up in Germany. If that was the case you would do a wire transfer from your US account to zero it out and close it at the same time. Your US bank can help with that. The five largest German banks are Deutsche Bank, Dresdner Bank, Westdeutsche Landesbank, Commerzbank, and the Bayerische Vereinsbank. It may be possible to open an account in Germany before you go. Contact the US rep offices of these banks to see they can arrange this for you. Good luck!

You could sell some of her things that she no longer needs/wants. Or you could help her out and join some online money making sites (since she is only 12). I know a lot of them seem like scams. I've been to Sweden around six times now. I can tell you from firsthand experience that they live in a socialistic egalitarian society that provided everyone with what they need, and is superior to our own. The better quality of life in these countries is a direct result of their superior systems of government. The U.S. is poised to become the big joke of the century if it doesn't get on board. i just got out of the army and now im a army husband and my wife is deployed and were just waiting for her contract to run out. im living in germany bc were both stationed here and now i need a job but the only place hiring is subway at 7 dollars an hour. im getting paid the same amount as a hs student. i need money to pay my bills, she keeps telling me she will help me pay my bills but i feel bad. there has to be something i can do online for money. theres alot of online job scams and i havent been able to find anything. any advice bc i dont like taking money from my wife
