What is the best career path for me? Something where I make a lot of money, and help people around the globe?

What is the best career path for me? Something where I make a lot of money, and help people around the globe?
I just recently graduated High School and I'm thinking about what I should get my B.A in. I am a very International person, I'm Persian/Iranien who was born and raised in Germany. I speak 5 languages Farsi, German, English, French and Spanish, but my overall goal is to be Fluent in 7 languages! (possibly Arabic and Russian) ... i know sounds crazy but I can be a pretty valuable person :D. I moved to L.A. when I was 13 and finished Middle School and High School here. I'm a very friendly, honest , blunt, and caring person and therefore wanted to be some sort of an International Advocate, who helps a lot of people in desperate need around the globe (help fight against child prostitution in India; Help fight for Women Rights in countries like Iran and other middle eastern countries; perhaps work for the United Nations to push them to ensure peace around the world; etc.) After that I heard that the United Nations doesnt do anything and that the pay is low . I could become an Interpreter for private companies... but that doesnt help people around the world. I think it's very unfair that us Americans get to live this Luxurious Lifestyle while other countries are in desperate Help... but we do donate a lot of money though. So yah, if anyone has an idea, then feel free to answer :)

The type of jobs you are considering that help desperate people around the world don't pay a lot. Rather than paying big salaries the money goes into directly helping the people.

I'm an International law student and knowing those languages is very useful. Also if you really do want to work for the United Nations. I've heard the pay is very high at the UN but you must have excellent connections to get a job there. Also law school is the usually route to International law and it is very expensive, challanging and boring. So be very careful about choosing that path. Most people (including myself) tend to regret it. The other options I recommend is to get a doctorate and be professor or teacher. Or work for the State Department (be a diplomat). Knowing languages is very useful for those types of jobs but certainly not the only prerequisite. If you are not planing to go to college, then maybe you should look to work for NGO (non-government organization) as a translator or join the Peace Core. Once again, knowing languages is very good qualification but you must know something else so you can teach people some skill in their language otherwise you can only teach them how to speak English. If you want to teach English overseas, try taking a TOESL class. Hope this helps.

Is it true that a lot of the Germans are upset about Greece?

Is it true that a lot of the Germans are upset about Greece?
Are germans mad about Greece. I could see them being mad because it lowers the value of the euro. Do they want greece kicked out of the EU. Or does Germany ever have a plan to drop the euro and make there own money again. Germany has the power to drop the euro why dont they. They might be better of without the euro. What do you think

Yes. Because a part of their currency relies on their productivity.
2 :
Why should they be? They were stupid enough to want the 'Euro", they get what they deserve. Germany better get used to bailing out dumb a$$ countries becasue this is just the beginning. See what happens when we all "share". hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaaaa
3 :
Who cares about the Germans, or the Greeks
4 :
Good points. Germany is the least unsuccessful State in Europe (and not surprisingly, the least socialist) They should break the trend and get out of the Euro so Britain can get in!
5 :
Yes, as they are providing the bulk of the bail-out finance. Germany has already pumped an enormous amount of wealth into the former East Germany, and now this is another crisis not of their own making they are lumbered with. However, the bail-out is still the least bad option, as having Greece go bankrupt would be much, much worse as that would affect not just the Eurozone, but the wider European and world financial markets.. Hence even many non-Euro countries are contributing to the bail-out with credit lines, to try and spread the burden. I doubt if anyone wants to drop the Euro as there are also many benefits. While many countries have a few tough years ahead because of the recent recession, Greece was eceptionally badly hit because of years of finanial mismanagement. The rest of Eurozone isn't in nearly as bad a state. If anything, there is talk about ejecting Greece from it, though that would just shift the problem outside rather than solve it. Having Greece as a bankrupt basket case would be a really bad idea, as nobody wants that sort of neighbour. Organised crime and terrorists coudl become endemic, and mass migration would be a problem. Better to sort it out, and the strings attached to the bail-out are the best way to enforce that.

Why do people think that money makes you powerful?

Why do people think that money makes you powerful?
My family has friends from cuba, and they were extremely wealthy there up until Fidel Castro took all of their land and money, this is what he did to all rich people when he took over. I have been told the stories as a child, so while growing up I always heard people say, "with money you get power" but this concept never made sense to me. The mafia had casinos in cuba and Fidel Castro took control over them and Fidel did this without money, he just had political power. Now, i read the history of the jews in Germany, they were the richest people in Germany BUT Hitler took away all of their money, businesses and property, and most of all he took their lives. Hitler did not accomplish this by being rich, but he had political power. If you make money, it doesnt mean anything. If you have Political Power, then you can control rich people. SO, Why do people think that money makes you powerful?

it just does, if your rich every whore who just wants your money will do anything for you.
2 :
People my friend are very naive; they think that paper can make you happy and what really makes me tick is that like you said; politics is the answer to richness by power and control... you need to realize, that you're already a rich man cause you're half way to your answer. You'll be wealthy when you recognize that politics is not the answer as well. You see... I've lived both in poverty and in richness and it didn't take long for me to realize that not one is better than the other. With power... comes great responsibilities and with responsibilities comes lots of stress... so the answer to your question is within you; you have the intelligence... you have the heart... use it to your full capacity and you'll be the richness man alive.
3 :
Money is simply the best tool to concreatize your values. If your values are destructive, money will destroy. if your values are life related, money will create. Beware of those that demonize money, for their values are upon their sleeves. Force manipulation an fraud are their means of living.
4 :
sadly, this is true. money will buy you a life if necessary. why do you think there is a war in Congo as we speak and no one cares? No one stops it? Because there's no profit from it. Sadly, money does give you power in this life here.
5 :
Power comes from the people. Everyone has their own share of power. Money is a tool that can control people, and when you control someone, you have their power. A man with money can control all those around him, therefore has more power than someone with no money, who can't control anyone. PS. Money isn't the only form of power.
6 :
Ah yes, political power is most commonly held by the wealthy. However, what the "rich and powerful" most fear is the ideologue who seizes political power by mandate of the poor and even "middle-class" masses using such issues as racism and morality. He often takes the money of the wealthy and gives it to... himself, as the government head responsible for "taking care" of the people and quickly becomes an even greater oppressor of the people than the original wealthy ruling class.
7 :
Power is the means to achieve a result. A powerful person is one who can achieve the results he or she desires. Power, or ability to achieve results, can come from various sources, money is one of these. But money may or may not be sufficient depending on the result desired.

The only way you can "make payments" is to charge it to a credit card.
2 :
Not directly or on the web. However you might be able to make a deal with a travel agent - but it will be more expensive in the long run. Most people use a credit card & then pay it off in installments. Most airlines will no longer take cash - you must use a credit card.
3 :
as far as i know, payment is expected in full. however, you could apply for a credit card and make payments that way. careful tho - credit cards are evvvviiiiilllllllll!
4 :
american airlines does a buy now pay later type of deal i would check it out
5 :
I think it depends on the airline, I have found some that do allow it. The best thing to do would be to call the airline and ask them. Good luck and have a safe trip.
6 :
If you charge it on you credit card you can make payments and pay the high interest rate the credit card company charges. My advice is to wait until you can afford to pay straight up. This will keep you out of the debt trap that keeps so many Americans in financial trouble.
7 :
Generally, with plane tickets you have to pay in full at the time of the reservation. As plane tickets go up as the date gets closer, now will be the time to buy as you said. They are willing to give up your seat if you don't have the money. It wouldn't be fair to the person who does have the money for them to hold your seat. Do you have a credit card? You may be able to put some of the balance on that and pay the rest cash. If you have a really dire situation, just call the airline and ask. The worst they can do is tell you no.
8 :
American Airlines offers a "fly now, pay later" plan, where you can pay on an installment plan with no interest for six months. I'm sure some other airlines offer similar plans, here's the details: http://www.aa.com/aa/i18nForward.do;jsessionid=1GJAWO1MJOP0ZEAJJNHSKJUQBFFUGVMD?p=/reservations/flyNowPayLater.jsp
