Not including your airfare might be enough. Just make sure stay on budget. And you would definitely have to stay in motels. Want to figure $100 a day,and use the train.

Barack Obama wants another stimulus package but how can this help the economy?

Barack Obama wants another stimulus package but how can this help the economy?
The only thing the stimulus package does is make the dollar bill value go down.. and people will be using it on their debts.. that will not help! For the uneducated i will explain why pumping more money makes the dollar less valuable.. You have to have natural resources like gold to back up your money you cant just print more money when theirs less of something its worth more.. before hitlor was elected in germany their money was so worthless people burned it.

Wait, I thought he didn't support the last one, didn't he call it a political year move?
2 :
a stimulus is just another way of saying tax rebate...they arent printing more money...looks like your the uneducated one
3 :
His stimulus package consists of giving rebates to people who don't pay taxes. That is called "vote buying" and the Democrats have been masters of it for the last century.
4 :
I thought he made fun of the present administration for borrowing money from China to subsidize the current stimulus package? Where does he want to garner this new financial aid for a new stimulus package? And how does he plan on making double payments for such huge repayments along with forcing us to give an incredibly substantial amount of our gross national product to Africa? ( via the UN which hates America ) My father already works two jobs to support this family. I work one barely above minimum wage to put myself through school fulltime. My mother works outside the house and she barely earns above minimum wage. How is America supposed to support Obama? We are already near the very end of the ropes of income because of oil prices caused by the Saudi government. What does Obama suggest we all do? Get third jobs? Fourth? What will happen when America collapses from the stress of slavery under the new government of Obama?
5 :
It will help but little cause it's just printed money. Bush did it because he cant pass another tax cut but forced with this socialistic idea. REMEBER GEROGE BUSH IS NOT A REPLUBLICAN BUT A MODERATE!!!
6 :
Economic Stimulus ?? I don't think so. We are borrowing the money for the stimulus from China, and other overseas places. The money is then passed back out to taxpayers to spend and pay bills with. Of course, most of the credit cards they will pay off, and most of the products they will buy and pay for are made overseas (particularly China). So th money is coming from overseas, passed out, and then it goes back to overseas. Just who's economy is getting stimulated here...... The whole thing is really stupid, and it is not working. It does give a false impression of of "free money" and therefor may get someone to vote, so Democrats and Republicans alike are supporting it. But it is not a real economic stimulus package. Unless you consider China, who is the main beneficiery of the economic stimulus package.
7 :
I really hope they don't do that. We will all end up owing taxes next year instead of getting a refund. This all has to be paid back with the next tax cycle.
8 :
if people pay their debts, then their credit will go up, then they will be able to spend more money.. we live in a material world.
9 :
Its similar to Obama calling out Clinton and McCain on their Gast Tax Holiday idea as just being apolitical move. Thats exactly what Obama is doing here. It will do nothing for the economy, but he is doing it based solely on politics. Obama is, and always will be a socialist hippocrate who is able to dish out false attacks, but when it comes to him, he can't take it. Obama- Weak cadidate who panders to whichever crowd he is talking to, but is to spineless to have true opinions and stand up for them no matter how unpopular. Obama-The Medias Candidate
10 :
If you explain something to "the uneducated", make sure it is not a lot of garbage!
11 :
Unfortunately, Obama doesn't yet have the experience to know anything about economics either. What does he look like to you, a freakin Einstein? Come on, this is the same guy that doesn't have a stance on whether to drill or not drill for oil. He stands there with a remark like, "I want to drill for oil but would be against it." while everyone else already made up their decisions on the matter.
12 :
What Obama is doing is not stating what he wants or plans to try to do. What he is stating is what he thinks people want to hear and will win him a few votes. Obama's qualifications are practically nil and he is such a racist he has only his glib tongue going for him.
13 :
wrong the national debt is what is hurting the value of the dollar.. All the Tax stimulus is doing is giving people some of their tax money back

What are some good classified sites in Germany?

What are some good classified sites in Germany?
I'm an English teacher in Hamburg but would like to make some extra money correcting universities papers written in English. Where should I post my ad? I've heard of Kijiji, but besides that are there any university related sites that I could post on? Thanks! I never said that I "refused" to correct papers from companies, it's easier to get in touch with students than it is with companies.

Why only University sites? Do you refuse to correct a paper from a company? In your place, I would google on Yahoo.de (for my opinion they bring in Germany better results than Google) for "kostenlose Kleinanzeigen" and you place your ad on every site the more the better.
2 :
Why not just go on campus and ask at the information desk where you could hang up/ place handouts advertising that you would like to correct papers and Diploma-/Master-/Bachelor-Theses. Make sure to say that you are a native speaker and English-Teacher. Add how much you want to have per page/per ten pages/ per paper... whatever, and make sure people can rip off the important information ("Englisch-Korrektur-Service" or something like that, and your phone number) by writing it on small strips and cutting them so that they can be ripped off individually. THink about all the different places in Hamburg alone where you could place them. University, Technische Uni, Fachhochschule, Verwaltungshochschule, ... You're bound to get some results by doing that. At least, it's what I would do. And you don't have to worry about cost of the add and so on. Maybe there's a free city magazine that would also print your add? Or that has an online version where classifieds like that are for free? Hope that helped. Can't think of anything else, right now, though.
3 :
I cannot think of many more Universities. I think Kijiji is the right path of which your taking. Maybe you help with my English.

While that is the up side of the horrid plan Once that occurs - you will be the Hitler that the world will need to defeat or live under a thousand years of American Nazi's and their world wide oppression and dictatorship Why is it that Russia has nukes parked off the east and west coast ? The last time they had to fight Nazi's they lost 25 million of their own people They wouldn't take it from Germany and they are not going to take it from America You had better wake up and soon because the plan is almost complete Once the anarchy of bankruptcy sets in you can count on a "strong" leader appearing with all sorts of magical cures for this economy of yours and once you can eat on a regular basis again you will follow all the orders given to you and like it It was no different in Germany - but first you have to suffer a bit in an engeneered crash

As a capsule summary, the vast sum of money used illegally by corrupt insiders inside the U.S. government, was originally amassed by Wanta as part of a plan he and several other financial whizzes devised on behalf of President Ronald Reagan to destabilize the Soviet currency, bringing a quick end to the Cold War. However, after Reagan left office, he was back stabbed by the Bush I and Clinton sadministration, leading to a long and unwarranted jail term to "get him out of the way," including 133 in a Swiss jail and years behind bars on a bogus Wisconsin state income tax charge. The rest of the story at: http://www.drudge.com/archive/83762/27-trillion-wanta-plan-bushwacked http://www.worldreports.org/news/38_paulson_and_cheney_s Madd Texan, see that's what wrong with America, because of folks like you with your thinking, did you ever think that anything related to leo Emil Wanta was blackout from the Whitehouse?....... You're one of those folks that get the news from Media here, I was taught long ago by my parent to get the news from anywhere other than America. This is the main reason why Foreigners despise this country. They know that the Presidents are propagandizing this nation and they know more about this country than most cititzens.

When you arrive in another country (airport), how do you make a phone call from a payphone?
Im starting to freak out a little. Im leaving to Germany and I need to call my hubby when I arrive (who is already in Germany).I was thinking that all I need is a phone card but then I remember reading the back and it saying that you need to pay like 90 cents but Im going to be in a diff country and I wouldnt even have their type of money. How would I make a phone call?

A lot of times, Major airports have pay phones that accept credit/debit cards for local calls. This has been my experience in many european airports.
2 :
Ok first off RELAX......Once you get there, most people now days that work in over seas airport speak english, so you can easy ask where you can buy a phone card. There's going to be book shop's/ news paper stands, they should sell them there. So just make sure you have a few EuroMarks on you, or your debit/credit card. Or even better still ask your hubby to send you one ( phone card) if there's still time before you leave. Have a safe trip.
3 :
At the airport, you can exchange a few bills. Your exchange rate won't be very good, but you can exchange 40 bucks or so and that will give you enough to use the phone and pay for a cab to go whereever you are going and a bite to eat if you want it. Almost all international airports accept American dollars, anyway, but it is a good idea to have some local currency in your pocket before you head out. Each country has its own type of public phones. In some places, you need to insert a card instead of coins. I don't know how it is in the EU. Ask at the airport. Plenty of people there will accept US dollars and will speak English. Don't worry about it. When you get to your hotel or where ever you are going, you can just use a regular calling card. And if you are in a major bind, you can always call collect. You'll be fine! Enjoy your trip. FYI- while you are exchanging money and figuring out the phone, make sure that you keep your passport and money in a pouch inside your shirt or pants, not just in your purse or pocket. There are people at airports the world over looking for foreigners who are obviously clueless and nervous and confused.

The German Government is trying to make me pay for child support money?

The German Government is trying to make me pay for child support money?
My wife left me when I got deployed to Iraq and took my child with her. She filed for child support money in Germany while I was deployed in Iraq. The German Government now wants me to pay for her taking that money and they sent someone to the U.S. to collect, all of this while my daughter was taken illegally while I was deployed, and when she took off she took all of my money in my bank account as well, I couldn't even stop my bank account until I got back to the United States for technical communication reasons. Anyway, do I have a fighting chance at this... to be honest, I'm not paying the German Government for that money that my wife filed for when she was being taken care of by me through the military she was living on military housing, and we had a secure paycheck each month. She left for her own selfish reasons, and now they want me to pay for a mistake she made. I'd rather go to prison, I don't care. This is just not right at all. I will stand up for what I believe in. I don't have the money for a lawyer that's the only bad thing about this. Help me out. I'm sure you've heard of foreigners fleeing the country after or during marriage and sometimes taking children with them while soldiers get deployed.

You def need to go to jag so they can tell you how to go about handling this. YOu will probably need to get a lawyer as well, since this will be tricky dealing with 2 countries.

This happened to my next door neighbor. He married this German bitch, and as soon as his boots left the ground, she took all his money, and the kids, and went home to her moms. First, you need to go to legal aid, and see what they can do. Also, I hate to say it, but I would make sure that the child is in fact yours. See about getting a DNA test. (If she was sorry enough to leave you like that, then cheating is not a far stretch, you know?) If she is jobless, you could fight for custody. Go talk to legal aid, and see what your rights, and options are. Good luck!

I am going for 10 days and will be staying with friends on an American military base in Schweinfurt. We will probably make a one or two day trip to Munich while I'm there. I am curious about what the average expenditures (food, maybe a sight-seeing tour or two) cost.

The plane tickets should be cheaper with all the inflation... I've heard that on the news and business experts... Usually I've experienced that plane tickets will run ya up to $2000.00 or lower standard plane ticket price, with inflation travel cost should be much cheaper!! according to washington's local news there are some benefits to these times. I know i'm take full advantage of this opportunity in june, fly to south korea to go see me mom, lol. pick me as best answer =P, Blake

I would have about $1000, while that may seem high consider the exchange rate for dollars to euros. Here's a link:http://www.x-rates.com/ You might want to invest in traveler's checks instead of carrying cash. Here's a link for them: http://www10.americanexpress.com/sif/cda/page/0,1641,23075,00.asp Enjoy your visit.
4 :
probably should have around 3000.00 for airfare and food, etc..
5 :
With Airfare? Or is Airfare already included? Airfare I would plan on spending anywhere from $1000- $2000 round trip. Food, sight-seeing etc., if you are trying to make the trip inexpensive you can make it in Germany for 10 days with $500 - $600 Euro. But to be safe I would plan on saving anywhere from $1000 - $1500 depending on how extravange your spending is. REMINDER - Europe requires coins to use the public restrooms, no one told me that when I went and I had to learn how to ask for change for 1 Euro in French. Not fun to do when you have to go to the bathroom after a lot of travel.
6 :
I would start by checking plane fares to get an idea of how much it will cost for your biggest expense. Keep in mind that it is often cheaper to fly into London first and take a connecting plane from London to Germany than it would be to fly to Germany directly (this is true with almost anywhere in Europe...London flights are cheaper because it is a major hub). Then I would figure out how many meals I would be paying for, and how many nights of lodging I'd be paying for, and what kind of transportation I'd need. Then I would figure out how much it would cost me to do these things here in America and then triple the figure to give me a general estimate of what I money should bring. Why triple the figure? Because the Euro is 1 1/2 to 2 times the value of the dollar right now plus I'd want a cushion. One additional thing you could do to be sure if your numbers were right would be to ask your friends who are there what the prices are in Euros for certain items and see how they compare to prices you are used to in dollars. Then add a cushion amount. Keep in mind to add a little more if you plan on buying souvenirs, going to a special event, or want to take your friends out to dinner as a thank you. Hope that gets you started!

My husband and I are stuck in Germany and want to come home to the states. We need money!!! Where can we go???
We came over here (Germany) to help my husband sick Uncle with his horse farm. Now that he has recovered from his hip surgery he is making life very miserable for us. We do not have money to ship our household good back to the states and need help monetarily to do so. How can we get enough to ship household goods back to the states and find a place to live until we find jobs and get our first paychecks. We are losing our sanity and if we knew then what we know now we would have NEVER came over to help. Our lives our under constant servalence by them every minute of every day. We have to ask permission to use the car, to mow the yard, to breathe practically, and we are slowly slipping out of our sanity and if we had the money to go back to the states we could gain our sanity and join the rest of the work force in the free-world of the US. If any one knows where we can get that help please let us know. Thanks!

Wow, you word it as if Germany isn't a free country! How did you get to Germany in the first place, it's pretty much the same deal but reverse. (Yes I know, I've moved from many countries back and forth and am about to move back to the states in three months from Holland). I recommend going to the American Consulate. They are there to help you! If shipping seems too expensive the only option is to sell your household goods and start over in the states. I just went through about 20 movers to get the best price for my move and ended up hiring a shipping company. To keep the costs at a minimum I'm packing myself and unloading myself. Keep in mind you do have to have someone load the container for you otherwise your goods are not insurable. Good luck!

What would it take for me to disappear to Germany and forget about the States?
I know it would take money, but what about becoming nationalized, finding a job, etc.? I've never been, but I want to start a new life in a foreign country. I've been speaking German for nearly 7 years, and in 3 years I'll have my bachelors degree in German with teaching certification. From there, how do I make the move to Germany and get started fresh? Do you want to teach German in Germany? Do you have a grandparent that came from Europe? If so you came become a citizen of the EU.

Travel there for a long period of time first. I'm talking like a month or more. Learn about the government, politics, LOCAL culture, economy, food, etc. etc. before you make the final decision. The language is the biggest barrier, and you've already mastered that. You'll love it, I guarantee it. To become a citizen, first you have to live there for eight years, seven if you take a course in integration. Also, you have to have little to no criminal record, be fluent in German, and have a job set up so you can support yourself. May I recommend Munich, the capital of Bavaria? Bavaria is what you would "think of" when you think of Germany. Mountains, cows and goats grazing on huge pastures, yodelers, accordions, beer, bratwurst, VERY friendly people, and beautiful countryside. Yet Munich is a huge, medieval city with many opportunities for a huge income, just like life in a huge American city.
3 :
As a US citizen, you can come to Germany and stay there for 90 days without really having to do anything. If you want to stay longer than that, you will have to get a residence permit which you can apply for IN Germany once you're there. However, you need a job offer in order to get this permit.

Should I search for a job and take it just to make money, or should I wait to find the "right job?"?

Should I search for a job and take it just to make money, or should I wait to find the "right job?"?
I live in Germany, and am now fluent in the language. Right now, I am looking for a part-time job. My husband works full time, and I am looking for a job just to get me out of the house every day-I don´t have children yet, so the hours I can work are flexible. Should I take the first job I can get, even though it´s not something I really want to do-i.e. work in a gas station, or should I wait for the job that I would truly enjoy?

Depends on how bad you need money.....if you don't need money....wait for the job you want!
2 :
Depends on your financial circumstances...Beggars can't be choosers!

4 :
If you are going to work for the sake of working...very soon...you will have no idea why you started working for anyway. I work in Singapore's largest training company. One consistent phenomena we noticed as we teach entrepreneurship skills and finding passion at work is this. When people work in J.O.Bs that they are not passionate about, everything else in their life suffers. From health to creativity... basically, they experience a slow death. On the other hand, when a person passionate about a purpose/cause embarks on a business/work, then even Providence moves. Don't work to make a living. Work to make a difference.
5 :
I would think that if you're looking for the "right job" and wait for it by not working in the mean time, it could look like you're too lazy to work and the boss with the "right job" might not hire you. Plus, it's always good to get out of the house and make some extra money.
6 :
From what I remember from your recent questions, you have been applying for a number of jobs already. As you seem to be in the "luxurious" position to not to have to take on any job, get your local newspaper and check with the local branch of the Bundesagentur für Arbeit. You are an English native speaker, if you have ANY interest in teaching (children or adults) whatsoever, I'd suggest you offer your language skills in particular. You can always work as a shop assistant or waitress, but you have that "extra" qualification of speaking perfect English. That is your "plus" - which other applicants might not have. Did you think about checking with any Kindertagesstätte or pre-school nearby? You could come in for a handful of hours every morning, offering little English "lessons" to the kids there, they only want native speakers. Did you think about offering English courses at the local Volkshochschule? Offering private tutoring for school kids having trouble in English? If teaching is not for you, quite a few companies would be happy taking you on on a 400€/month basis doing office work, especially if you speak perfect English. I think your best option might really be to go see somebody at the Bundesagentur für Arbeit - they will go through a form with you, asking your for your qualifications and job experiences. If you are flexible when it comes to working hours, I'm sure they'll be able to give you a handful of ideas or even job offers straightaway. Good luck!

I would pray and ask God to send you where he wants you to be a witness for him. And then wait on the lord...he will provide. That is what I do. Put the kingdom of God first and all other things shall be added unto you.

Breezer - the best time to get a job is when you have a job... It's a good way to net work, try the local job market and better your professional German.

3 :
Italy aren't in bad shape. A win guarantees their passage. In fact, a draw should be enough as New Zealand are unlikely to pull off another upset. Germany are superior to Ghana. I expect Germany to emerge from the group as winners and Serbia as the other team. England are through with a win and should be able to handle Slovenia. If I had to pick one of the four teams, I would go with Spain. But honestly, I think all four of these teams make it through.
4 :
You didn't give us France as a choice (LOL). I actually think all four of those listed get past the first round. If I have to choose one, it would be England. They will be feeling the pressure against the Slovenian team who have already beaten Algeria and tied the US.
5 :
Italy and England

7 :
England. They are eliminated pretty much if the US beats Algeria. Even if the US only ties Algeria, they still have 2 goals over England in the total.

England
9 :
France without any doubt, but you did not list them. England is not a high power team, but rather the most overrated team. They are just an average team. So I do not consider them and do not care about them, but rather want them to lose asap. Italy are in trouble and could not score against NZ. First they got one but still struggles. So I think they will be out very soon, if not now but in R16.

What's the best and safest way to send money from the US to Germany?
I need to transfer some funds to Germany, since I'll be moving there soon permanently and I wanna make sure that my money gets there safely. What's the best way to go about that? Should I leave my bank accounts open here in the US until I have transferred all my money over there and THEN close them? Can I even close them, once I'm over there? First,I would need to open an account over there, right? Well, how do I do that? Can I do that online while I'm still in the States or how does that work exactly? We're not talking pocket change here,it'll be my lifesavings, etc. What about taxes and stuff? Anyone know anything about that sorta thing? Thanks.

It would easiest if you already had a bank account set up in Germany. If that was the case you would do a wire transfer from your US account to zero it out and close it at the same time. Your US bank can help with that. The five largest German banks are Deutsche Bank, Dresdner Bank, Westdeutsche Landesbank, Commerzbank, and the Bayerische Vereinsbank. It may be possible to open an account in Germany before you go. Contact the US rep offices of these banks to see they can arrange this for you. Good luck!

2 :
You could sell some of her things that she no longer needs/wants. Or you could help her out and join some online money making sites (since she is only 12). I know a lot of them seem like scams. I have tried a lot of them but a good legit one s Treasure Trooper. Here is my link http://www.treasuretrooper.com/633447 I make a pretty good amount of money within a month on there. And you guys have 7 months to go before May 2011. So if you have time to complete surveys/offers, I'd say give it a try if you have nothing to sell!
3 :
You know your daughter better than us. If you don't know any ways for her to get the cash, it's not an optimistic sign for us. Why should a child be obliged to find so much money at 12 years old. I find that distasteful. Good luck, despite what I just wrote !
4 :
Not going to happen. She is an underage minor. She cannot work, cannot babysit. Any money she raises selling bake goods or such you must pay income taxes on.

How many people know that countries like Canada, Sweden, and Germany are swimming in money from EXPORTS?
Why do people in the USA look at the people in great exporter nations like Canada, Japan, Germany, and Sweden, and see how happy they are from having ALL OUR MONEY.... then they think socialism is what made them so happy. THEY HAVE ALL OUR MONEY. WE ARE THE STUPID ONES WHO KEEP BUYING THEIR STUFF AND MAKING THEM RICH WITH OUR MONEY. That's why they are so happy. Not socialism. They can afford socialism because of OUR MONEY. We are paying for their socialism. SOCIALISM DID NOT MAKE THEM WEALTHY. WE DID. When are we going to wise up and figure this out.....?

I can tell you from firsthand experience that they live in a socialistic egalitarian society that provided everyone with what they need, and is superior to our own. The better quality of life in these countries is a direct result of their superior systems of government. The U.S. is poised to become the big joke of the century if it doesn't get on board. Capitalism is fail.

Wow, we Canadians are not swimming in your American money. We have many other trading partners, you know. We import quite a bit of American goods as well. We also cross border shop, a national pass time, actually. I have seen the joke cracked more than once on American TV that American made products are inferior & the work ethic isn't great...shows I've seen on Fox, to be exact, so we even import your TV chanels. So, if you want to improve your export business, improve your products.
14 :
Uhm... I don't think that you know what socialism is. And since when is it *your* money? It doesn't belong to you if they own it, right? Wealth creation is what underpins successful economies. US GDP is still the largest in the world by a long way, but you have so many poor people in your country because of the high degree of social inequality. Maybe a bit of good old fashioned 'socialist' wealth redistribution is what you need...

I haven't always agreed w/ you but I believe I understand you point. This is what has made every country great ..manufacturing of its natural resources and industrial and manufacturing of its goods.
17 :
Yup, Canada's only problem is that the US economy drags ours down whenever you have a problem. Fortunately we just sold all our oil sands to China so we are slowly separating our economy from the "former superpower" to hook up with the next superpower. Just don't invade us, we're tougher than Iraqis and you can't even defeat them.

2 :
The dollar is close to worthless now! I said close not totally. At this rate you better start saving. Pay attention to what is going on! We are in trouble and it doesn't have one thing to do with Hillary.
3 :
yes. reason 106,463 NOT to vote for her.
4 :
Yeah, I'm really worried about Hillary making the dollar worthless. Under Bush the dollar has lost half its value and he keeps printing more money and lowering interest rate, which is the equivalent of printing more money. We're even likely to lose our AAA bond rating making US Bonds effectively junk bonds. Yeah, Hillary and the Dems are the problem.
5 :
You're joking, right? The Bush administration has the federal reserve working overtime printing more and more money that's barely worth the paper it's printed on to cover their borrowing and spending. Bill Clinton was very thrifty by comparison, balancing the budget without raising taxes. I'd expect the same from Hillary Clinton. You cons need to turn off Rush Limbaugh and get acquainted with a little thing the rest of us call reality.
6 :
No, George W. has done that by running up the deficit and foreign nations propping up our economy through bonds etc. George managed to turn a 3 trillion surplus into a deficit. God what an awful president on many levels
7 :
One of Hillary's better quotes: "I have tons of ideas for this country, I just don't think it could afford them all."

Where the hell have you been for the last 2 years, sorry dude! Bush beat her to it the dollar already is worth half of what the euro is worth and even the Canadian dollar is worht more than our money. Read a book for Christ's sake and turn off that stupid talk show program.
9 :
Too Late. George Bush has already made the dollar worthless.
10 :
We need to cut costs and increase efficiency. This will provide more money for the economy. One of the simplest ways of doing this is by decreasing dependence on foreign oil and running the United States on alternative energy (wind, hydopower, geothermal, solar power) and other alternatives such as "liquid coal", and increased use of electric vehicles, cars, buses (for public transportation 24 hours a day!!). The major current drain on our economy is the war that is going on in Iraq. One of the things we are promoting with our transformation to democracy there is equality for the women. In the United States of America the women did not get the vote until 1929, and not even all men could vote when our country was founded!!!!! Yet we were and still are a democracy! We need to decide clearly whether our goal in Iraq is democracy or feminist ideals. We need a plan, cultural change is very very difficult, by contrast cultural change, makes government reorganization look easy!!!!!
11 :
Yes - and then we will be stuck with the amero.
12 :
Hey I just watched G Bush promise me some money today, Hillary's not gonna do that. Bush is gonna send me about a thousand dollars. Spend it like I want. No you are not taxed, but you must answer some question where you got the money from and why you have such an amount with you. Best is, you take a paper from your bank.
2 :
If you are German citizen, or legal resident in Germany they might ask you where that money comes from, and it might happen you have to pay taxes in case they can prove you did not pay taxes on it yet. If you are foreigner with no residence in Germany there is no reason to pay taxes on that money.
3 :
The only reason why you have to declare is money laundering / terrorism. There is no tax to be paid. German customs recommend to bring documents that prove origin, owner and destination of the money. Here's the declaration form in English: https://www.formulare-bfinv.de/ffw/form/display.do?%24context=0 hope this helps

Germany RUNS the car industry. Why is it US vs Japan article for the car show?
Most of the technology and design in cars today is from Germany. Most of the worlds DESIRABLE cars are from Germany. Many Big buck major money making high quality car companies are in Germany. Why is it Japan vs USA in the article? Is the just masses of little pod cars and cheap cars that matter nowadays?

most of the cars sold in America are American or Japanese.that is why the Battle exists in America.
2 :
What rock do you live under? Have you looked at some of the 'desirable' German autos lately? How do you explain the bad LSD flashback design all BMW's now have? Not to mention the infernal iDrive straight from hell and the constant trips to the BMW service dept for thousands and thousands of weary owners. What has Opel given us lately? Oops -- they belong to GM. Let's talk about VW. Boy, that Toureg was really a barn burner. Why don't you ask the dealers why they can't even fire-sale them off the lots. The Passat and Golf are also blessed with a design style that makes you want to snore the moment you see one on the road. Audi A8-- well what can you say about a vehicle that looks the same coming or going? Even iconic Mercedes Benz has been plagued by quality and engineering problems for the last three years. Has hell frozen over? At least Porsche has stayed the course. Too bad I haven't won the powerball lottery yet so I can AFFORD one. Don't misunderstand -- just because Germany blinked and got smacked around a little doesn't mean they won't come back with a vengence. They have just been confused about what will sell here in the states (so is GM, Ford and to some extent, Chrysler). Only Japan seems to be in tune with the buying public in north America but even they are playing it safe lately. Can anyone tell the difference between an Accord, Camry or Altima from 100 yards? They all suffer from jellybean exterior design elements. Unlike their counterparts in Germany, the Japanese can strike back with bold design and engineering wonders much faster in response to the market. If GM and Ford can't figure it out how to do the same within the next two years we may all be driving SUV's forever. Damn.
3 :
You're trippin'. Germany has not "run" the car industry in quite some time. The largest German car company is DaimlerChrysler. Builder of overrated Mercedes cars that don't even come close the quality they used to have in the 1980s and earlier and crappy Chrysler products. Number 2 in German is Volkwagen/Audi, which does build some great cars But all German cars are notoriously unreliable these days, especially Mercedes-Benz, which used to be one of the best, ironically. Most new BMW's look like dogsh-t, though they are cutting edge in a lot of ways still, mostly they are owned by status-concious a-holes more than genuine driving enthusiasts. Meanwhile the Japanese are making "cheap little pod cars" like the Lexus LS460, you know the car with better reliability than anything to ever come out of Germany? The car that won Car of the Year from at least 4 different magazines this year. You'd better recheck your facts dude. LOL The Japanese run the car industry, like it or not and they are growing and gaining market share while everyone else is losing it. End of story.
4 :
Sounds like you live in a bubble Seriously, just because you have a preference for german cars doesn't mean they run anything. Likewise, they are fighting it out with the koreans for total market share, at least in the US. The Japanese makes and US makes account for most of the market share in the US.
5 :
Japan and America run the car industry..... it comes down to who sells the most and best quality cars..... that people can afford. I agree Geramny makes some nice cars, Mercedes S series..... but america and japan make just as many, if not more different DESIRABLE autos. America owns the SUV and Truck world....period. Most people nowadays need affordable effecient autos. No-one is going to buy a 250K car versus a 20K car, especially the everyday joe who busts his behind going back and forth to work 5-6 days a week, he needs an effecient reliable affordable auto..... thats where Japan and America own the auto industry.

You have Christmas in front of you.... so focus on arts and crafts with that theme. Google arts and crafts projects that involve Christmas (making ornaments, etc.) and then sell them on Ebay or at a yard sale. If the school allows then organize a spaghetti feed, a raffle (where you can raffle off your Christmas art projects) and of course the all time winner: the bake sale. P.S. It is spelled Choir.....
2 :
Hey Kara I hear what your trying to do. The only thing is that $6,000 is a fair bit of change and I think you'll have to broaden out what your doing in order to raise that money. Crafts are good but with the time invested in order to make an item plus what it sells for will mean a LOT of time to raise the money. I encourage you to look at different ideas in the meantime. Look at raising money with scratch cards (each one raises over $100 and can be done quickly) cookie dough, trail mix etc. There are a bunch of items you can sell at a flea market with your craft stuff or at a BBQ at a local mall. You can do differnt things like dog walking tutoring, in your free time. Check out the links i found for more ideas. Good Luck

If Doctors quit after Health Reform passes because they make less money, aren't they in the wrong business...?

If Doctors quit after Health Reform passes because they make less money, aren't they in the wrong business...?
to begin with? For some reason, the rest of the world seems to have more doctors than we, and yet only in our country do we have doctors threaten to quit when they stand to make a little less than cutthroat rates. how come other countries with socialized medicine like the UK, Vietnam, Germany, Canada etc. don't threaten this? Do American doctors need to learn to get less greedy and perhaps learn that if they were just in medicine to make money, they were in the wrong professions to begin with? @Andy: No, I'm just fine making what I need to get by. hard to believe, I know, especially considering you're a conservative, and that's what your entire moral philosophy is based on. @Ted: I hope you're going to back up that claim that Canada loses doctors to the US every year...or are you going to ignore me like a typical conservative?

No. They are doctors, not priests. They have houses to pay for and families to support. Do you still live in your mother's house?
2 :
yes they do
3 :
The health care bill will do MORE than just cost doctors money It will prevent them from providing quality care. That is ethically enough to make many quit.
4 :
If we believe Republicans then the only reason anybody is motivated to do anything is money, and naturally the most talented in our society do what they do so they can get the most money.
5 :
They don't really want some sorry excuse for a president telling them what they can and cannot do in their practice or in their job when Obama has no freakin clue what the health care/medical field is really like. Yes, doctors make a lot of money. But they went to college for many years to get where they are at today. And without doctors, people would be losing lives. I work in EMS, emergency medical services. Those doctors in the ER do a hell of a job and work their ass off saving lives. Don't you think they deserve the pay? I don't get paid shit really for what I do, it's because I love to help people. And so do doctors. But they went to school for much longer than I did, and they can handle, see, and do many things that others would not be able to handle, see, or do.
6 :
You wouldn't want to make as much money as possible?
7 :
Doctors that become doctors only for the big paycheck are the biggest problem with high dollar lawsuites to begin with. And right-wingers want to get rid of more accountability with tort reform.
8 :
When the govenrment cuts their payments from Medicare in half (and they're planning to towards the end of the year) to the point where they can't cover their overhead costs and have no choice but to quit, its not their fault. It's the fault of government regulations for creating the artificial conditions forcing them out of business.
9 :
Over 100 Canadian doctors leave Canada every year to work in the United States because there's more money there. There's nothing wrong with wanting to be able to make more money. Doctors from all over the planet flock to the United States, because a good doctor can retire a millionaire there. If you don't understand why people want to make money, you've obviously never had to pay for any necessities out of pocket.
10 :
So let me make a suggestion, you go to college for four years, (on your own dime of course) then go to college some more, then do your residency and of course, spend a fortune paying back the student loans all for a salary that is mediocre. Then, let's talk.

Oh and as for AIDs and Cancer, if you're rich enough you get cured. Just saying magic johnson P.S I.E (cancer research center only takes big names insurances.) I agree with you a hundred percent, some of them are cold and they say "its a survival strategy" because they're around death constantly. I get it but dang have a little empathy

You do realize that not all doctors make huge salaries, right? Most primary doctors own their own businesses. They take risk just like any other business owner. There are some rewards to risk. But if you want to spend another 10+ years after high school getting a professional degree, are willing to have someone's life in your hands, are willing to be sued for it if you get it wrong...then maybe you deserve to make a little money.
13 :
well lets so, NO the rest of the world does NOT have more doctors than the US my sister is a MD she gets to start working for real at 31 years old, she was the top of her HS class, she get pre-med done in 2 years instead of 4 and graduated head of her med school class, so after going to school until they are 30-35 and having $500K-$900K in student dept if you think anyone becomes a Dr. for money you have no idea how little most doctors make nor do you understand the cost of school and the fact that it takes half your working life to get it done I know for a fact that canada has "black market" doctors because the waiting lists for "government doctor" is months or years long
14 :
It isn't about making "less" money, it's about making so little money that it makes no sense to keep working. The Democrat plan will likely decrease their income from government insured patients. But their costs will not decrease - they will keep increasing. Many doctors and health care providers limit the number of Medicare patients they have because the low reimbursement rates don't cover the cost of treatment in most cases. Increase the number of covered and decrease the reimbursement rate even more, and now you are asking the doctor to take the loss. And for other countries, such as the UK and Canada, there are far fewer specialists per capita than in the US.

Maybe in a better economy.

NOt right now with the economy the way it is. People losing their jobs and cutting back, no one is going to buy things from Germany right now. Maybe later when things pick up and the economy is better. I have family in Germany so I don't have to pay anything.

Considering how high shipping costs are I doubt it. I don't even ship things back home anymore, it costs more to send it then to buy it. And I doubt you can find things that people cant get online. In my city we had tons of German shops. I cant think of anything I couldn't get, if they didn't have it, another website would, who ships at local domestic prices.

yes, very much so.

Ask your Mum and Dad if you could do some extra chores to earn money for your trip. Enjoy your trip and have a wonderful day.
2 :
Work for a newspaper writing articles or something. You could work anywhere with a work permit. Walmart, McDonalds, Wendy's, KFC, K-Mart, you name it. Or you could clean yards for elderly people. Hope I helped
3 :
Really the only thing you can do is babysit or a like-job. Make a flyer and put it up in the mall or other place where lots of people go. Ask your sister if you want take a few of her clients once or twice. You could try to do landscaping type jobs like mowing the lawn or watering plants, but people usually hire guys for those jobs.
4 :
become a rent boy
5 :
how about a paper round, or perhaps you could mow neighbours lawns or clean neighbours cars?
6 :
Make handouts to distribute around your neighborhood saying that you are a responsible teenager looking for neighborhood jobs, including: * dog walker - a lot of working people don't have to do this because of their work schedules. * house sitter - while people are on vacation, you bring in their mail, water the plants, feed the fish/cat/dog, etc. * hand washing people's cars. Charge extra if they want you to hand wax with Turtle Wax. (This one is really common -- car washes are still very common fundraisers run by kids.) * mother's helper - many moms want a few minutes peace just so they can sit down and have a cup of coffee, take a shower, or whatever. As a mother's helper, you can watch the kids while their mom is at home, or accompany the mom and kids to the park or playground and help mom out there. * In the future, you can work as a counselor-in-training at a summer camp. Even if they don't get paid a wage, they often get good tips from very appreciative parents. * Tutor - if a neighborhood child is struggling with a particular subject, such as Language Arts or Math, offer hourly or half-hourly tutoring for a fee. Many parents want to keep their kids' academic skills fresh over the summer or as the new school year approaches. * Saying that your sister "gets all of the baby-sitting jobs" is a cop-out. Although you don't want to take away her existing clients, you can ask her or them to refer possible new babysitting clients to you. Be sure to stop by and see new neighbors or drop off a handout with your info on it. * Mow lawns. Just because you're a girl, doesn't mean you can't mow a lawn. Wear safe footwear while mowing to avoid injury. * Ask your mom and dad for other ideas of what you can do either in the neighborhood or for them. They will appreciate your willingness to EARN money. Perhaps they will even hire you to do a dreaded chore, such as cleaning out and organizing the garage or basement. One final point -- you seem to be very consumed by the idea of buying, buying, buying while on vacation. Try to remember that it's the memories made during the vacation experience that are most important, not the stuff that you accumulate.

how much money should i budget for transportation around spain and germany?
I'm planning on starting in Madrid, staying in Granada for a bit and making my way to Germany (skipping France). I would like to see a bit of Germany and maybe Amsterdam. I'm flying home out of Berlin. How much do you think I will be spending on transportation if I want to get around this much?

has anyone been conned into thinking they can make money?? id like to hear from you...?
hi, i would like to hear from people who have been conned out of money thinking they have had a great job opportunity. ive been offered something to good to be true. my own business. all i have to do is send off monay to get my starting off pack. its basically i have to recommend a product from the company to other people to get money. i will work on comission. the company isnt based in uk- but germany. it does sound good and i have seen the dvd and have spoken to the fella who wants to help me start out and things make sense. but i saw he answered someone elses question and was asking £200 off someone. i confronted him about this as he said i dont pay any fee up front. he know says i have to pay £200. when i said no he lowers the price to £50. is he just after my money? is there really a job? im not stupid, no offence to those who've been conned, but i wont sent any money. can anyone tell me about their experiences and who it was that was ripping them off?

Its a con job. They make their money by selling their 'start-up kits'. It sounds like a sales snowjob that involves a crossing ideas of being a franchisee and being an independent sales contractor. A franchisee buys into an already existing business idea, a good example is McD's or BK (no one said the product had to be good). The business model and operations already exist and the franchisee is buying a business-in-a-box. Usually the business owner sell limited use rights, the business plan and model and operations layout for an up front fee ($250K - $500K) or a leasing option. An independent sales contractor doesn't put up any money up front and they are not paid by the products producer until there are sales made. The contractor is paid a commission based on the net or gross of the sale(s). The product manufacturer provides the contractor with the sales documentation for marketing and some support for information about the product.

Steer well clear of it. He sounds like a con man from hell. There are plenty of legit companies out there willing to help you start your own business and some will require a fee but there are also plenty of others that wont. I work online part time with both systems I have brought into and others that are free. They both require work and effort. I making a great living and my only regret is I didn't start sooner. Make sure you research all opps as there are lots of sharks just waiting to pick up the minnows. Hope that helps you some. All the best

This doesn't sound too solid. I would say to keep away from it. The fact that they want money up front sends up a red flag. Also, it seems they are not going into enough detail as too how your role would work. It sounds like a scheme. amadeus

The person who is trying to recruit you is obviously not the type of person you would want to do business with. But on the other hand, the business model he is describing is very legitimate. It's called Network Marketing and has been alive and well for many years. You must expect an investment because you are purchasing a home based business. People do it every day and I always laugh when people say that if there is any money upfront, it's a scam. Who buys a business without an investment? When you purchase a home business, you are not being conned....except maybe by this guy as his story changed...I bought a home business that was just under $200. Within a few days of marketing my product, I not only earned my investment back, but I started to earn actual income. Most businesses take time to build, but if you are dedicated and willing to treat it like a million dollar business, that is what it will become. If that's being conned, then I hope people keep conning me out of my money because I earn a great deal more than I ever did in the work world and have the time and freedom to travel and pursue other investments. Yes, there's work involved, but I would think one would expect that when going into business for themselves.
